About This Show

Lorena Hickok & Eleanor Roosevelt: A Love Story by Pat Bond, is performed by Marjorie Conn.

The herstory left out of the history books — in it’s 13th year. This is the longest running play in Ptown since 1994 and chronicles the amazing 30 year relationship between the First Lady & the top woman journalist in the US documented in over 2000 letters written by ER to her beloved Hick who actually lived in the White House. Hick overcame sexism, physical familial abuse and her life story is inspiring. She was also FDR’s confidential investigative reporter during the Great Depression. Her reports to FDR helped shape government policy. Her great friendship with ER began shortly before Eleanor became First Lady and some researchers claim Hickok was ‘the woman behind the woman.”

“I love you beyond words & ache to hold you close.” — ER to Hick
