ArtsEmerson:The World on Stage presents Ameriville, a collision of storytelling, spoken word and the infectious rhythms of jazz, gospel and hip hop, will change your concept of “musical theatre.” The viscerally energetic and diverse young team, Universes, put the state of the Union under the microscope and into the microphone, as they spin exquisite harmonies and beatboxing around themes of race, poverty, politics, history and government, examining our country through the lens of Hurricane Katrina and its aftermath.
