About the Show

A co-production with the award-winning Evangeline Oaks Entertainment, Okra is a dark comedy set in French-speaking Louisiana, where a rich brew of Cajun and Creole cultures continues to stir centuries of simmering resentments, disappointments and legends. As the Bourgeois family prepares to welcome a cousin from France they have never met, all are confronted with issues of family strife, personal identity and adult freedom. As with all things gumbo, it’s a question of adding the right ingredients at the right time.
