Edward Scissorhands

Edward Scissorhands tells the story of an ingenious inventor who dies before completing his most extraordinary creation: a real life working boy. The unfortunate child in question is thus left in distinctly impractical state of having devilishly sharp scissors for hands. Set adrift in an odd suburban world, Edward is faced with rejection and abuse, although he also finds love in the form of a fellow misfit.

Following his success with shows ranging from The Car Man to Play Without Words, Matthew Bourne’s latest ingenious dance drama indulges his love of all things Gothic as it reproduces the characters from Tim Burton’s legendary film.
