Clad in his waiter’s uniform and armed with both a beer and his new handgun, Michael Martin returns from New Orleans as “The Bearer,” his first shot at first-person storytelling since “Pattern Recognition,” his Chicago solo debut back in 1997. While “The Bearer” may be the central–read ‘longest’–piece of Tale/Spin, the latest show at the Curious Theatre Branch, Martin (thinks he) is not stupid: this performance also features ferocious new work by four women who can match him word for word.
