Impossible Marriage

About the Show

Foreground Theatre Company presents Impossible Marriage, by Beth Henley. This dark southern comedy marks Foreground’s fourth production since its inception in late 2000.

Playwright Henley introduces the quirky Kingsley family of Savannah as it prepares for the wedding of its youngest girl, Pandora, to a renowned writer over twice her age. Pandora’s refined mother Kandall is appalled by the engagement; her acutely pregnant sister Floral is willing to go to any lengths to break it off; and the groom’s adult son Sidney has arrived, uninvited, with a doom-filled message of his own to deliver. Even Reverend Larence, who is to perform the ceremony, has come to the event burying a secret. This bitingly funny and heartfelt play takes place at the Kingsleys’ estate during the 24 hours leading up to this seemingly impossible union.

Foreground Artistic Director Allen Jeffrey Rein directs.
