Come Back, Little Sheba
$20.00 - $35.00
William Inge’s 1950 drama, Come Back, Little Sheba explores the world of a loveless marriage. Twenty years after an unintended pregnancy forced the Delaneys to abandon their individual ambitions, Doc, a recovering alcoholic, and Lola, his affection-starved wife, have settled into a numb existence that enables them to coexist from one day to the next. But when a vibrant young college student rents a room from the couple, their home is suddenly inhabited by the ghosts of their own failings – Doc’s professional disappointments, Lola’s challenges as a wife, and the shared problems of their marriage. David Cromer (Orson’s Shadow, The Cider House Rules) directs.
Donations collected following performances from September 28 to October 1 will be donated to the Illinois community-based programs of the Gateway Foundation, a non-profit organization providing alcohol and drug abuse treatment for adults and youth, particularly those with limited resources.
