About This Show

George C. Wolfe’s The Colored Museum is a powerful social satire of living exhibits which whirl through history, inflating stereotypes to the point of explosion. Stereotypes are left in shreds as eleven vignettes spoof white and black Americans alike. Wolfe shows the madness in the extreme: that the suffering of the past is all defining, or just as bad, that it can easily be glossed over and ignored.
