About the Show

It is the summer of 1776. The situation with Britain is spiraling rapidly out of control. General Washington takes his ragged amateur army south to New York to face the overwhelming might of the British Empire. Meanwhile, in Philadelphia, a roomful of ordinary men must change the course of history and declare American independence. Led by John Adams, the congress struggles through a hot and exhausting summer as they attempt to find a way to reach a compromise and break all ties with England. 1776 is not only a celebration of the birth of our nation but also a funny, bright, and deeply human depiction of events in spite of its profound subject matter.A donation of $15.00 is suggested, but a lesser donation is always accepted.
