About This Show

The Heat Is On is an explosive yet moving solo musical production which celebrates and reveals the woman behind the “Love Goddess,” Rita Hayworth. The show examines the life, loves and career of one of Hollywood’s most electrifying stars. The show covers Hayworth’s infamous marriages to Orson Welles and Prince Aly Khan; her turbulent relationship with movie mogul Harry Cohn; her ascent into Hollywood stardom in the ’40’s; and her final struggle with Alzheimer’s disease. Quinn Lemley, who bears more than a passing resemblance to Hayworth, brings her story to vivid life through monologues, music made famous by Miss Hayworth’s films (“Long Ago and Far Away,” “Put the Blame On Mame,” “I’m Old Fashioned,” “Zip,” Bewitched…), dance and four costume changes.
