Whole World 3rd Space Theatre presents The Boys In the Band written by Mart Crowley and directed by Michael Snow. Mart Crowley’s groundbreaking play turns 40 years old in 2008 and is given a warm welcome by a dynamic cast at Atlanta’s home for comedy. It is 1969, two months before the historic Stonewall Riots and Michael is throwing a birthday party for his dear friend Harold with all their closest gay friends attending. Emory is bringing a singing hustler as a special surprise for Harold but it is Michael that receives the biggest surprise when Alan, his old college roommate, drops in to seek Michael’s advice. Alan’s appearance turns the camping & and cavorting to drama & revelations as the party becomes a night these nine ‘friends’ will remember forever.
