The famed song comes to life as Stephen, a songwriter, tries to escape his mundane life by writing an adventurous song full of “music and passion.” The audience sees his ideas played out on stage as he falls in love with Lola. Rico, the infamous Tropicana Club owner, enters the Copa with his girlfriend Conchita, to the dismay of Sam, the owner of the Copa. Sam is worried that every time he shows up one of his girls gets lost. Lola becomes the next victim and Rico drugs and kidnaps her. In Havana, Cuba the Tropicana is a hot spot and Conchita is the star. She revels in her glory but is being pushed aside by Rico’s new find, Lola. Tony tries to rescue her but ends up in kind of a bind. Adventure ensues as the song comes to its dramatic climax, “there was blood in a single gun shot but just who shot who.” At the Copacabana, you’ll fall in love.
