About This Show

One of Shakespeare’s darkest and most passionate plays about the nature of love, friendship and betrayal. Set in Venice and the exotic island of Cyprus this tale tells the story of Othello–the outsider, the Moor–and Desdemona the young woman who dares to love him against the backdrop of war and the quest for power. Into their perfect love come Iago and his wife Emilia. The demons of jealousy are loosed as well as the monsters of the human imagination. Together they form a quartet of conflicted passions and cunning lies that shatter everything and everyone in their wake.
