Storm Warning

About the Show

Out of the Norm presents Storm Warning, a play by Canada’s king of comedy Norm Foster. Despite being one of Canada’s most produced playwrights (possibly even the most), it is rare to see a professional production of Foster within Toronto city limits. After successful out-of-town presentations, director Chris McHarge and performers Phi Bulani and Debra Hale now bring this hysterical comedy that critics and audiences raved about to Toronto.

It’s 1953, and Jack Forrester, a World War ll veteran with a wry sense of humour, is hiding out at a run-down resort. Along comes Emma Currie, an amphetamine-popping big band chart writer, who attempts to change his outlook on life. As sparks ignite and one-liners fly, the storm approaches. It is a side-splitting collision of opposites as both lives are changed forever.
