New York City
Singer/pianist/comedian Mark Nadler lights up the Geary stage with Tschaikowsky (and Other Russians), his dizzying and hilarious cabaret show–a tutorial in Russian music inspired by the Kurt Weill/Ira Gershwin tune of the same name and made famous by Danny Kaye in Lady in the Dark. A 2003 critical favorite of New York’s solo circuit, the New York Times called Nadler’s 75-minute freewheeling elaboration of the song a “tour de force” and Backstage heralded Tschaikowsky (and Other Russians) as “cabaret’s Angels In America.”
