About the Show
Chaotic Heart and Mia Paschal, whose show some life won Best Female Solo at the 2004 San Francisco Fringe Festival, presents her newest work This Lily Was (Fontana), the story of a cutter, scarred and tethered by the absolute chaos of borderline personality disorder, as part of the 12-day San Francisco Fringe Festival.
An arm embroidered with scars. Seven suicide attempts. A woman who has found comfort in cutting herself takes her salvation where she can get it: in myths and bibles both holy and profane, from Italian psych ward travelers, the echoes of a blues legend howling along a dusty road, the memory of the taste of red velvet cake, a long ago whispered sweet something in a language she will never understand.
