Love takes its usual beating when the Lesbian/Gay Chorus of San Francisco (LGCSF) presents its annual anti-Valentine’s Day cabaret, Love Bites the Hand that Feeds It, a unique experience where depravity and fun go hand in hand. Emceed by LGCSF soprano Carolyn Eidson, the chorus performs selections that run the gamut, from the 70-year-old Broadway tune “Down With Love” to Tom Lehrer’s catchy ditty “I Got It From Agnes” to the “Neighbors’ Chorus” from the comic opera La Jolie Parfumeuse. In addition, LGCSF showcases the world premiere of “Your New Stupid Boyfriend,” written by Bay Area composer Jack Curtis Dubowsky. Stephanie Lynne Smith directs, with “choralography” by Kirk Johnson.
Both evenings feature a variety of solo, duet, and group performances and include a 50/50 raffle. Concessions are available for a donation. Saturday night features a live auction.
