About This Show

Hairstory is an original musical review combining a vibrant blend of gospel/soul/jazz and pop music to bring to life the stories of people and their hair. The book and lyrics were developed out of interviews conducted with a diverse group of people about how they feel about their
follicles and how that contributes to their sense of identity. As the cast of singer/actors gather in a mythical beauty salon “Moxie’s Make-Overs” for a memorial for the dear departed Moxie, memories spill forth about childhood, adolescence and adult “Hairstories”. Featuring an original score by Johari Jabir, and lyrics by Jabir and Doug Holsclaw. Joari Jabir directs.

There is no Sunday matinee on September 8.
