Flying Ace and the Storm of the Century
$10 - $25
A multidisciplinary tour-de-force igniting hope in the face of climate change disasters.
Created in 2013 to commemorate the one-year anniversary of Hurricane Sandy, Flying Ace is a duet performance exploring how people negotiate extreme climatic events. One of the greatest challenges currently facing vulnerable communities globally is adaptation to climate-driven disasters. How can we best prepare our families and neighbors for what lies ahead? What sort of innovation and communication is necessary to survive? Flying Ace proposes that big hope can be found in the smallest of places.
Perched on the roof of his house, armed only with a typewriter and a rare imagination, a dog attempts to adapt after an unusual hurricane washed him out to sea. Inspired by Charles Shultz’s iconic beagle Snoopy, this show incorporates leading climate science, live music, and bold physicality.
Final performance: October 22, 2023
