About This Show

The Edgemar Center for The Arts presents the return of The Night of the Black Cat, directed by Deborah LaVine. The show takes place on one magical night when some of France’s most famed artists travel through time to entertain in the salon of Germaine de Stael. It’s a provocative, fun-filled musical set in the French Cabaret “Le Chat Noir” in Paris 1881, featuring forbidden poetry, passionate dancing and sensual music. The show is an original work based on themes that resonated through the Parisian café in the years after its opening. Experience a taste of a revolutionary artistic movement set in the watering hole of the world’s most influential artists including George Sand, Jane Avril, Edith Piaf, Picasso and other luminaries.
