About This Show

In the West Coast premiere of the dark comedy Phantoms Go Down, Ariel Shepherd-Oppenheim explores the world of three estranged siblings as they road trip down to Cabo San Lucas to bury their mother’s ashes. The journey becomes more complicated when Rosalind, the youngest sibling and an eccentric performance artist, snorts their mother’s ashes and becomes possessed by her ghost. Complications arising from the possession, getting stranded in the desert, and getting drugged by a creepy old woman force the siblings to deal with the ghosts (literally) of their past. In this sharp and strange comedy, exploring memory, family, and As I Lay Dying become life and death concerns for this dysfunctional family unit as they learn how to care for themselves and each other.

The cast of Phantoms Go Down features Clementine Ford (from The L Word and The Young and the Restless), who happens to be Ms. Shepherd-Oppenheim’s older sister (both are daughters of television and movie actress Cybill Shepherd), as well as June Carryl, McKerrin Kelly, Kellie Matteson, Cyrus Wilcox and Mark McClain Wilson.

Phantoms Go Down is directed by Cindy Marie Jenkins and produced by Ariel Shepherd-Oppenheim and Vesna Hocevar.

The production team consists of Lighting Designer Brandon Baruch, Sound Designer Jeff Gardner, Puppet Consultant Park Cofield, Prop Master Misty Carlisle, Costume Designer Kimberly Aldinger, Associate Producers Jarema Osofsky and Zack Bass and Stage Manager Meirav Rotstein .
