New York City
The Theatre District presents Light Sensitive by veteran TV writer Jim Geoghan (Three’s Company, Family Matters, Kate & Allie, Silver Spoons and Mama’s Family). The show is directed by Artistic Director Macario Gaxiola.
Light Sensitive is a simple story of love, belief and acceptance in Hell’s Kitchen. Thomas Hanratty was once known as the “most feared white cab driver” in all of New York City. After a freak accident which left him blind, he relies on his best friend Lou, for companionship and support. When Lou takes a shot at making a life of his own, he finds a volunteer from the Blind School to help take his place in Thomas’ life. Enter Edna, a first-time volunteer who faces the challenge of befriending Tom, a proud man who doesn’t readily accept help. The result is a battle of wills and wits that proves, once and for all, that beauty truly is in the eye of the beholder and reminds us that our eyes can sometimes get in the way of our seeing.
