High School Musical

The Bakersfield Music Theater production of High School Musical is cast with 38 of the most talented student performers in Bakersfield. Unlike the concert version presented at the Rabobank arena, these performances are fully staged with a professional set and full lighting and sound. The set is by the Fullerton Civic Light Opera and replicates the original movie.

High School Musical is a story of two high school students: Troy Bolton, captain of the basketball team, and Gabriella Montez, a shy transfer student who excels in math and science. Together, they try out for the lead parts in their high school musical. Despite other students’ attempts to thwart their dreams, Troy and Gabriella persist and inspire others along the way.
