New York City
STAGE presents Do Re Mi – Comden & Green’s Broadway. In many ways the Broadway team of Comden and Green were the Golden Age of American Musicals. Starting with On The Town, a fresh, bright and sassy tale of three sailors loose in New York on a one day pass during World War II, their lyrics brought, along with the music of Leonard Bernstein, a fresh and youthful imagination to the Broadway musical. That was in 1944. And right through their final musical, The Will Rogers Follies, nearly a half century later Broadway theatres were filled with shows created by Betty Comden, Adolph Green, and their collaborators.
