About the Show
Written and performed by Austin Nation, this 75-minute autobiographical solo performance takes audiences from Milwaukee to West Hollywood, from crack addiction to a PhD, and from an HIV diagnosis in 1986 to a life fully, defiantly and fabulously lived. With humor, honesty and heart, Nation shares his journey through addiction, survival, identity and transformation – becoming his drag persona, A’Freeka Nature, before the audience’s eyes. The intimate performance unfolds with little more than a mirror, chair, clothing rack and dress, allowing Nation’s powerful storytelling to take center stage.
