About the Show
The Bronx Music Heritage Center proudly presents NY cultural ambassadors of bomba and plena–Los Pleneros de la 21–in the New York City installment of the POR LA PLENA tour; a special 3 city tour celebrating Afro-Puerto Rican bomba and plena and Los Pleneros de la 21's latest album, Por La Plena y Otros Asuntos. This social-dance concert uplifts the camaraderie of plena and Puerto Rican cultural expressions, bringing members of Los Pleneros, students of LP21's youth workshops, and special musical guests visiting directly from Puerto Rico together under one roof for a shared evening of music.
