Celebrate Halloween, Día de los Muertos, poetry, music, and community as the Nuyorican Poets Cafe marks its 53rd anniversary at the Bronx Music Hall!
Doors open at 3:00 PM.
Bring the whole family for an afternoon of Halloween fun, including holiday family photos, face painting, an open mic for kids, storytelling, and a costume pageant.
The evening continues with a Día de los Muertos altar created by Viajero, followed by an altar activation and celebration.
Theater doors open at 6:30 PM.
Edgar Allan Poe gets a Nuyorican twist! Bobby Sanabria & Sexteto Ibiano bring Poe’s legendary poetry into conversation with Latin jazz and Afro-Caribbean rhythms, joined by poets and vocalists La Bruja and Sandra García Rivera.
Experience Poe’s poetry bilingualized and recited to Afro-Caribbean rhythms in a performance where literature, spoken word, and Latin music meet onstage.
