York Theatre Company to Present Elizabeth Swados' Nightclub Cantata

The York Theatre Company will present the Marymount Manhattan College student workshop's mounting of Elizabeth Swados' Nightclub Cantata on June 28 and 29.

With words by Swados and David Avidan, Nazim Hikmet, Nancy Larrick, Isabella Leitner, Eve Merriam, Pablo Neruda, Frank O’Hara, Sylvia Plath, Muriel Rukeyser, and Delmore Schwartz, Nightclub Cantata is a mashup of literature, poetry, sound, and song from 1977.

Directed and choreographed by Bill Castellino (Cagney), the cast will include Michael Balin, Brian Fender-Shirley, Emma Gibson, Claire Idstrom, Noah Pyzik, and Nicolette Shin, with Dave LeBlanc on drums. Ryan Touhey serves as musical director.
