Bay Street Theatre has announced two musical performances coming to the Sag Harbor theater this September.

Gene Casey and the Lone Sharks will perform a 25th-anniversary concert on Saturday, September 14, at 8pm. Beginning its career as a “bar band,” the group gained popularity in the Hamptons music scene in the late 1980s. Since then, the band has released a number of albums, including A Lone Sharks Six-Pack (2005), What Happened (2008), and Rhythm & Twang (2009). Two of Casey’s original songs were featured in the premiere of the FX Network’s Justified.

The following week, Corky Laing comes to Bay Street Theatre for the second time this year with his band in Heavy Metal Humor. Laing is best known as the longtime drummer for the 1970s American group Mountain and the writer of its platinum-selling rock anthem, “Mississippi Queen.” The performance will take place on Saturday, September 21, at 8pm.

Heavy Metal Humor chronicles his life from his early days as a musician on the Montreal sock-hop circuit to the pinnacle of his rock-‘n’-roll career, recording with legendary artists including Eric Clapton, Mick Jagger, Bo Diddley, and Ozzy Osbourne. The show also dishes about the golden age of rock and its not-so-golden history.

“We are excited for Corky’s return to Bay Street,” says producer Gary Hygom. “A musician of such talent and history as Corky is truly a master of his own art. We are taking his show to the next level by adding more musicians and more music. Glad to have him back.”
