The New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) celebrated its opening night at Hudson Terrace on Monday, September 26. The 2011 festival plays multiple venues in New York City through October 16.

Emmy and Tony Award winner Robert Lopez, who serves as Honorary Chairman for the festival, served as host, with guests including Liz Lark Brown, Jenn Colella, Nick Dalton, Felicia Finley, Joe Iconis, Andrew Kober, Lonny Price, Paul Stancato, Max Von Essen, Jason “Sweet Tooth” Williams, and cast members from the NYMF musical Cyclops: A Rock Opera.

In related news, it has been announced that next year’s festival will be held in the month of July, rather than during the months of September and October.
