New Works by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, Rajiv Joseph Part of Dallas Theater Center 2012-2013 Season


Dallas Theater Center has announced productions for its 2012-2013 season, which will take place at the Dee and Charles Wyly Theatre at the AT&T Performing Arts Center and the historic Kalita Humphreys Theater.Among the highlights will be the world premiere of Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa’s The DRACULA Cycle, a fresh take on Bram Stoker’s vampire classic, to be directed by Kevin Moriarty (March 15-April 18, 2013). Another world premiere will be playwright Rajiv Joseph and composer Bill Sherman’s contemporary new musical version of the Peter Pan story, Fly, to be directed by Jeffrey Seller, with music supervision by Alex Lacamoire and choreography by Andy Blankenbuehler (July 2-August 18, 2013).

The season will also feature The Second City Does Dallas (August 29-October 6); Kristoffer Diaz’s The Elaborate Entrance of Chad Deity, directed by Jaime Castañeda (October 19-November 25); the holiday favorite, A Christmas Carol, directed and choreographed by Joel Ferrell (November 20-December 23); Shakespeare’s King Lear, directed by Kevin Moriarty (January 18 – February 17); John Logan’s Tony-winning Red, directed by Joel Ferrell (February 8-March 10); and the new rock musical Fly By Night, conceived by Kim Rosenstock, written by Rosenstock, Will Connolly and Michael Mitnick, and directed by Bill Fennelly (April 26 – May 26).
