Michael Golamco, Leslye Headland Works Set for Second Stage’s 2010 Uptown Series

Michael Golamco’s Year Zero and Leslye Headland’s Bachelorette will be the featured works in Second Stage’s 2010 summer uptown series, to be presented at the McGinn/Cazale Theatre.

Will Frears will direct the New York premiere of Golamco’s play, May 18-June 23, with an opening on May 26. The piece centers on a 16-year-old Cambodian American and his sister, who struggle to reinvent themselves following their mother’s death.

Trip Cullman will helm the world premiere of Bachelorette, July 12-August 7, with an opening on July 21. In the play, things don’t go according to plan at Becky’s bachelorette celebration, due to two party crashers, one manipulative maid of honor, and a bathtub of booze.
