Watch Tony Nominee Gavin Lee Transform Into the Grinch

The Grinch is back in town — and this time, he's being played by SpongeBob SquarePants Tony nominee Gavin Lee. The new production of Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas! The Musical, currently running at the Hulu Theatre at Madison Square Garden, features an intensive makeup and costume process for the actor, and the production team recently captured the process in a time-lapse video. The work features music and book by Mel Marvin and Timothy Mason, and the 2018 production is directed by Matt August and choreographed by Bob Richard, based on the original choreography by John DeLuca. It runs through December 30.
