Todd Alan Johnson Joins Off-Broadway’s Iron Curtain

Todd Alan Johnson has joined the cast of Prospect Theater Company’s Iron Curtain, running November 5-27 at the Baruch Performing Arts Center. He replaces Marcus Neville, who has withdrawn from the production due to a scheduling conflict.

Johnson’s credits include Aida on Broadway and the Actors Fund performance of A Wonderful Life. In addition, he was a member of the original company of NEWSical, Off-Broadway.

Directed by Cara Reichel and featuring choreography by Christine O’Grady, the show, with book by Susan DiLallo, lyrics by Peter Mills, and music by Stephen Weiner, follows the misadventures of two struggling songwriters, Howard Katz and Murray Finkel. The duo finally get their big break when they are kidnapped by the KGB, taken to Russia and forced to fix the world’s worst communist propaganda musical. With the help of their madcap Soviet collaborators, the team gets a taste of the fame they never had in America.

The company will also feature will include Maria Couch, Jenn Gambatese, Bobbi Kotula, David Perlman, Aaron Ramey, and Gordon Stanley. The ensemble will include Sara Brophy, Ronn Burton, Clint Carter, John Fico, Andrea McCullough, James Patterson, Robby Sharpe and Aubrey Sinn.

The creative team includes Remy Kurs (musical supervision and orchestrations), Brandon Sturial (musical direction), Brian Prather (set design), Sidney Shannon (costume design),. Doug Harry (lighting design), and Andy Leviss (sound design).
