Stephen Adly Guirgis to Direct Kiss Me on the Mouth

Stephen Adly Guirgis will direct InViolet Rep’s world premiere production of Melanie Angelina Maras’ Kiss Me on the Mouth, which will play Center Stage, November 3-21, with an opening on November 5.

The play is about best friends Christina and Amy, whose encounters with the man who could be “Mr. Right” take them on very different courses. The cast will include Ken Matthews, Aubyn Philabaum, Megan Hart, and Troy Lococo. The creative team will feature Lauren Helpern (set), Dina Alexander (sound), and Dana Covarrubias (costumes).

Guirgis is best known as a playwright, with works including Our Lady of 121st Street, Jesus Hopped the ‘A’ Train, In Arabia, We’d All Be Kings, and The Last Days of Judas Iscariot. Directing credits include Liza Colón-Zayas’ Sistah Supreme and Marco Greco’s Behind the Counter.
