Joshua Johnston, LuPone’s son, is now a second-generation member of the legendary troupe.
Joshua Johnston, son of two-time Tony winner and Broadway mainstay Patti LuPone (Gypsy), is following in his mother's footsteps. He is currently performing at the Pearl Theatre in The Acting Company productions of Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead and Hamlet, prior to a four-month national tour. This comes 41 years after LuPone's tour with The Acting Company as a young actress herself alongside future Broadway stars including two-time Tony winner Kevin Kline (Cyrano de Bergerac), David Schramm (Finian's Rainbow), and David Ogden Stiers (Irving Berlin's White Christmas). LuPone is a founding member of the acclaimed theater company.
"My four years with the Company taught me practically everything I know about stagecraft," said LuPone. "They are lessons I apply to this day. I am thrilled that Josh has those same opportunities. He's the first second-generation member!"
