Daniel Jenkins, Marin Mazzie, and More Set for One-Night Big River Concert
54 Below is set to present 54 Sings Big River. The one-night-only event will take place September 14 at 7pm and 9:30pm.
The event's cast will feature Tony Award nominee Marin Mazzie, who made her Broadway debut in 1985 in Big River; Daniel Jenkins, who earned a Tony nomination for his performance as Huck in the original 1985 production; Michael McElroy, who earned a Tony nomination for his performance as Jim in the 2003 production; and Jennifer Leigh Warren, who will re-create her performance of the song "How Blest We Are" — written specifically for her to perform in the original Broadway production. Additional cast includes Jelani Alladin, Scott Coulter, Daryl Glenn, Tara Halpern, Karen Mack, Rob Maitner, Nicole Prothro, Lille Ricciardi, Michael Ruocco, Christina Sajous, Melanie Vaughan, Lennie Watts, and Garrett Zuercher.
Music direction is by Mark Hartman and The Muddy Water Quartet. Direction is by Phil Geoffrey Bond.
