Karen Akers, Jack Jones, Andrea Marcovicci, Paula West Set for Oak Room Season

The Algonquin Hotel’s Oak Room has announced the acts for its Fall 2009 season, to begin on September 9.

The room will host pop singer Jack Jones, Broadway and cabaret star Karen Akers in a tribute to Cole Porter, award-winning jazz singer Paula West, and Andrea Marcovicci, who has appeared at the Oak Room for over 20 years, in “Skylark: A Centenary Celebration of Johnny Mercer.” Marcovicci also just released a new CD As Time Goes By.

The hotel’s Spring season will conclude with jazz singer Curtis Stigers (June 9-20); and the room will be closed for the summer.
