Jeffry Denman, Lorna Luft, et al. Set for Closing Event of Broadway Cabaret Festival

Additional details have been announced for the final event of the Town Hall’s seventh annual Broadway Cabaret Festival, to be held on Friday, October 28 at 8pm. The festival is created, written and hosted by TheaterMania contributor Scott Siegel. The evening is also co-hosted by Lorna Luft and Susan Stroman.

Luft will be interviewed onstage as part of A Tribute to Judy Garland and the Art of American Dance, which will be punctuated by performances from Carole J. Bufford and Elizabeth Stanley, who will sing famous Garland numbers like “The Trolley Song”, “The Man That Got Away”, “Zing Went the Strings of my Heart”, and ” Over the Rainbow.”

Siegel and Stroman will head the segment of the evening entitled In the Art of American Dance, and will discuss the grandeur of American movie dance, particularly the brilliant solo, and duet work of such stars as Fred Astaire, Ginger Rogers, Gene Kelly, Ray Bolger, Jimmy Cagney and Judy Garland. Performers will include Jeffry Denman, Nancy Lemenager, Meredith Patterson, Noah Racey, and the New York Song and Dance Company. Among the iconic dance numbers to be performed will be “Once in Love with Amy”,” Give My Regards to Broadway”, and “Get Happy.”

The show is directed by Siegel, with choreography by Racey and musical direction by Ross Patterson.
