The musicals Assassins, Really Rosie, and The Bubbly Black Girl Sheds Her Chameleon Skin are on tap for this summer's Encores! Off-Center season at New York City Center.

Stephen Sondheim and John Weidman's Assassins, directed by Anne Kauffman, will run July 12-15. The musical, which premiered off-Broadway at Playwrights Horizons in 1990 and made its Tony-winning Broadway debut in 2004, tells the story of nine men and women who attempted to assassinate various presidents of the United States.

Kirsten Childs' Bubbly Black Girl Sheds Her Chameleon Skin originally ran at Playwrights Horizons in 2000. Spanning more than 30 years, the work follows the life of a young black woman who must navigate the worlds of racism, sexism, and Broadway stardom. Directed by Robert O'Hara, it will run July 26 and 27.

With a book and lyrics by Maurice Sendak and music by Carole King, Really Rosie will run August 2-5 under the direction of Leigh Silverman. Making its New York premiere at the Westside Theatre in 1980, the musical is based on Sendak's books Chicken Soup With Rice, Pierre, One Was Johnny, Alligators All Around, and The Sign on Rosie's Door.

Further information about each production will be released in the coming months.
