Daniel Beaty’s Through the Night to Close Off-Broadway December 5

Writer/performer Daniel Beaty’s award-winning solo show, Through the Night, will play its final performance Off Broadway at the Union Square Theatre on Sunday, December 5. At that time, it will have played 15 previews and 70 regular performances. Charles Randolph-Wright has directed the production.

In the show, which previously played at New Jersey’s Crossroads Theatre and Los Angeles’ Geffen Playhouse, Beaty portrays a variety of African-American characters, ranging from an inquisitive 10-year-old boy to an elderly preacher, who are connected through their community.

Through the Night recently won the 2010 Audelco Recognition Award for Outstanding Solo Performance, as well as the 2010 Voice of Change Award, both of which Beaty received on Monday, November 15.
