Brenda Braxton, Felicia Finley, Carly Jibson, Leslie Kritzer, Jack Noseworthy, Mary Testa, et al. Set for NYMF Shows

Additional casting has been announced for productions in The New York Musical Theatre Festival, which will run September 28-October 18.

Leslie Kritzer, Barbara Walsh, Ann Harada, Nick Blaemire, Doug Kreeger, Nikki Snelson, and Jennifer Laura Thompson will star in Judas and Me by Chad Beguelin and Matthew Sklar. The show will be directed by Jeremy Dobrish and choreographed by Tony Award nominee Dan Knechtges.

Meanwhile, former Tony nominee Willy Falk will star in Monica Bauer’s Lighter, about two diet-crossed lovers and their quest for the perfect diet.

Everett Quinton, Michael Winther, and Marlon Sherman will head the cast of Nancy Carlin and Michael Rasbury’s Max Understood, to be directed by David Schweizer.

Stephen Bienskie, Harris Doran, Kathy Fitzgerald, Lisa Howard, Michael McCormick, Jim Newman, and Tory Ross will co-star in Mark Robertson’s Scottish folktale, Marrying Meg.

Jack Noseworthy will star in Under Fire, set in the late 1970’s, and concerning a young American photojournalist in Latin America. The musical features book and lyrics by Barry Harman, with music by Grant Sturiale. The cast will also include Tony nominee John Herrera, James DePaiva, Jodi Stevens, Isabel Santiago, Patrick Murney, Caesar Samayoa, Gina Naomi Baez, Enrique Cruz DeJesus, Juan Torres-Falcon, Melvin Bell, Roger DeWitt, Phil Hernandez, Ioana Alfonso, and Jessica Diaz.

Manu Narayan will lead the cast of Mark Weiser’s rock and roll vampire musical The Cure, to be directed by Elizabeth Lucas. The cast will also feature Michael Buchanan, Tim Carosi, Brie Cassil, Tony Edgerton, Daniel Greenwood, Gregg Goodbrod, Kyle Harris, Lianna Jessop, Tony Ramos, Zak Resnick, Kyra Selman, Jen Sese, Cat Stephani, and Lindsay Van Winkle.

Tony nominees Brenda Braxton and Lorraine Serabian will star in Plagued – A Love Story, featuring book and lyrics by Vynnie Meli and music by Casey L. Filiaci. The musical, which is about the daughter of Cinderella and Prince Charming, will also star Natalie Bradshaw, Julian Brightman, Pierce Cravens, Dale Hensley, Gina Milo, Jim Sorenson, La’ Nette Searcy, Jason Simon, and Rebecca Stavis. Samuel Buggeln will direct the show, which features musical direction by Zak Sandler.

Natalie Venetia Belcon, Felicia Finley, Marcus Neville, and Alex Wyse will star in The Last Smoker in America, featuring book and lyrics by Bill Russell, music by Peter Melnick, direction by Sheryl Kaller, music direction by Fred Lassen and choreography by Matt Williams. The piece is about a dysfunctional family struggling to survive in a world where smoking has recently been outlawed. The production will also feature a cameo voiceover by 2009 Tony Award winner Alice Ripley.

Mary Testa, Jenn Colella, Charlie Pollock, and Casey Predovic will star in All Fall Down, to be directed by Lonny Price and Matt Cowart. The musical features a book by Greg Turner and music and lyrics by Selda Sahin, and examines golden boy Ben Little as he heads off to college.

Paolo Montalban, Colin Hanlon, Russell Arden Koplin, Kristin Maloney, David Andrew Anderson, Andy Gale, and Austin Ku will star in Benjamin Strouse’s Whatever Man, to be directed by Hilary Adams.

Carly Jibson, Clarke Thorell, Sarah Saltzberg, Kristine Zbornik, and Randy Blair will star in Fat Camp, featuring a book by Blair and Timothy Michael Drucker, lyrics by Blair, and music by Matthew Roi Berger. Alex Timbers will direct, and the cast will also include Matthew David Allen, Melissa Bergland, Ally Bonino, Nancy Renee Braun, Brooke Engen, Molly Hager, Cale Krise, Michael Mendez, Ryah Nixon, Larry Owens, Marc-Sully Saint-Fleur, Josh Segarra, Kate Weber, and Tracy Weiler.

Nick Spangler, Christine Pedi, Patrick Benedict, Greg Hildreth, Rob Hinderliter, Emily McNamara, Ben Steinfeld, Nick Sullivan, and Sam Tedaldi will appear in David Ingber’s “Bromatic Comedy,” Fantasy Football: The Musical?, directed by Adam Arian.

Jonathan B. Wright will join the previously announced Emma Hunton, Darryl Winslow, Jeremiah James, Dana Aber, Christian D. White, Christopher Hudson Myers, and Kate Adams in Gay Bride of Frankenstein.

Steven Kane, Corey Boardman, Wilson Bridges, F. Michael Haynie, Joseph Medeiros, Antonio Addeo, Jason Edward Cook, Lyle Mackston, and Gabriel Violett will star in John Mercurio’s Academy, to be directed by John Carrafa.
