Allison, Bey, Hersch, Mason, et al. Win 2006 MAC Awards
The 2006 MAC Awards, which honor the best in Manhattan comedy, cabaret, and jazz, were presented on Monday, April 17 at the Tribeca Performing Arts Center. Among the winners were Broadway star Karen Mason, jazz singers Andy Bey and Karrin Allyson, and pianist Fred Hersch.
Lifetime Achievement Awards, previously announced, were given to singers Betty Buckley and Sheila Jordan, cabaret impresario Donald Smith, and jazz trumpeter Clark Terry. Singer Phoebe Snow and comedian Judy Gold received the organization’s Board of Directors Awards.
