Emanuel Azenberg to Receive Tony Award for Lifetime Achievement in the Theatre

Producer Emanuel “Manny” Azenberg has been selected for the 2012 Special Tony Award for Lifetime Achievement in the Theatre, which he will receive on June 10 at the 2012 Tony Awards.

Azenberg has produced 65 Broadway productions and received eight Tony Awards. His credits include more than 20 Neil Simon shows, The Lion in Winter, Master Harold…and the boys, The Real Thing, Sunday in the Park with George, Ain’t Misbehavin’, and others. In addition, Azenberg has acted as the general manager for over 150 shows and worked as a professor at Duke University for the past 25 years.

The 66th Annual Tony Awards will be broadcast live from the Beacon Theatre on the CBS television network on June 10.
