New York Theatre Workshop celebrated the opening of Lisa Peterson and Denis O’Hare’s An Iliad on Tuesday, March 6 with a post-performance celebration at the theater.
Peterson directs the one-man show, adapted from Robert Fagles’ translation of Homer’s Iliad, which features O’Hare and Stephen Spinella alternating in repertory as the narrator of the tale of final weeks of the Trojan War.
The design team includes Rachel Hauck (scenic design), Marina Draghici (costume design), Scott Zielinski (lighting design), and Mark Bennett (original music and sound design). Brian Ellingsen serves as the production’s on-stage bassist.
Guests at the performance included David Greenspan, Michael Greif, Heather Randall, and Ben Vereen.
TheaterMania’s review of An Iliad will post on Thursday, March 8 and will include assessments of both O’Hare and Spinella’s performances in the production.
