Routledge, Stewart, Suchet, et al. Set for Chichester Festival
Patricia Routledge, Patrick Stewart, and David Suchet are among the actors who will appear at the Chichester Festival in England, which runs April 12-September 22.
Routledge, who won a Tony Award for Darling of the Day, will star alongside Edward Petherbridge in Alan Bennett’s Office Suite, a double-bill of one act-plays (April 12-May 12). Stewart, whose Broadway credits include A Christmas Carol and The Tempest, will play the title role of Macbeth (May 25-September 1) and Malvolio in Twelfth Night (July 14-August 31). Suchet, who played Salieri in the Broadway revival of Amadeus, will star in the world premiere of Roger Crane’s triller The Last Confession (April 27-May 19).
Other offerings at the festival will include Rodgers & Hart’s musical Babes in Arms (May 29-July 7), Jean Anouilh’s The Waltz of the Toreadors (June 16-August 4), Harold Brighouse’s Hobson’s Choice (July 27-September 1), Mark Rylance’s new play The Big Secret Live ‘I Am Shakespeare’ Webcam Daytime Chatroom Show (August 14-September 8), and a revival of The Life and Adventures of Nicholas Nickleby (September 10-22).
