Casting Completed for Broadway Production of Lisa Kron’s Well
Well tells the autobiographical story of Kron and her mother, Ann (played by Obie Award winner Jayne Houdyshell), a community activist. It employs an unusual conceit in which the actors, some of whom play numerous roles, actually critique the script while performing it.
Breaker starred Off-Broadway in Lynn Nottage’s Fabulation at Playwrights Horizons. Ekulona appeared in the Public Theater production of Well; her other credits include Fabulation, A Streetcar Named Desire at New York Theatre Workshop, and The Plank Project. Hoffman, best known as a writer and director, helmed the Off-Broadway production of Kron’s 101 Humiliating Stories. Kirk appeared in the Soho Rep’s award-winning production of [sic].
Kron’s previous work as an actor and writer includes 2.5 Minute Ride, Brides of the Moon, and the recent Oedipus at Palm Springs, which just received a GLAAD Media Award nomination. She also appeared Off-Broadway in the revival of The Normal Heart and in Paul Rudnick’s The Most Fabulous Story Ever Told.
