Works by Laurie Anderson, Benjamin Millepied, Robert Wilson Set for Peak Performances' 2012-2013 Season logo

Peak Performances at Montclair State University's Alexander Kasser Theater has announced details for its 2012-2013 season, which will include nine premiere works by Laurie Anderson, Benjamin Millepied, and Robert Wilson, among others.

The season will begin on September 29 with the world premiere of David T. Little's Dog Days, an opera set in an imagined, war-torn United States, based on a short story by Judy Budnitz, featuring a libertto by Royce Vavrek and musical direction by Alan Pierson. The six-singer/one actor piece is produced in association with Beth Morrison Projects and will run through October 7.

From October 25-28, Benjamin Millepied's six-member company L.A. Dance Project will make its east coast debut, with repertory performances of Merce Cunningham's Winterbranch, William Forsythe's Quintett, and a to-be-titled premiere by Millepied featuring a score by Nico Muhly and visual designby Christopher Wool.

The London-based Richard Alston Dance Company will present A Ceremony of Carols from December 13-16, created to celebrate the centenary of Benjamin Britten's birth. The piece features the Montclair State University chorus and harpist Andre Tarantiles. The program also features Roughcut, a dance piece set to a score by Steve Reich, as well as Unfinished Business, a work set to music by Mozart.

Zinnias, a chamber opera based on the life of African-American artist Clementine Hunter, will run January 26-February 3, brought to the stage through the collaboration of Robert Wilson, Bernice Johnson Reagon, Toshi Reagon and Jacqueline Woodson.

From February 14-17, Romeo Castellucci and his Italian company Societas Raffaello Sanzio will present his work On the Concept of the Face, Regarding the Son of God, a highly graphic look at a son who must look after his aging, incontinent father as a portrait of Jesus Christ looks on.

South African dance troupe Katlehong Cabaret will present via Katlehong Dance from March 26-24. The Israeli Jasmin Vardimon Company rull present Freedom from April 18-21.

From May 10-11, Laurie Anderson and Kronos Quartet will present a world premiere piece that is yet to be titled.
