Garden State Film Festival to Honor Edward Asner with Lifetime Achievement Award

The Garden State Film Festival will honor stage and screen star Edward Asner with its 2012 Lifetime Achievement Award. Asner will participate in GSFF’s 10th Anniversary celebrations on March 25 and 26.

Asner is best known for his role as journalist Lou Grant, which he originated on The Mary Tyler Moore Show and then starred as in the spin-off Lou Grant. He is the winner of numerous Emmys and Golden Globes. Asner’s theater credits include FDR, Ivanov, The Tempest, and Born Yesterday.

At GSFF’s 10th Anniversary celebrations, Asner will join Joseph Gannascoli in a reading of Ken Pisani’s Two Ton Tony, receive his award at the festival’s closing night Awards Dinner, and welcome GSFF guests to the Paramount Theatre for Roger Paradiso’s documentary I Want My Name Back
