Stage and screen star Bill Pullman will join the BBC/Starz series Torchwood as a regular, according to a report on Deadline.com. He will play a clever convicted murderer who escapes his lifelong prison sentence on a technicality and quickly becomes a media sensation.
Torchwood also stars John Barrowman and Eva Myles and centers on the members of the titular Torchwood Institute, a secret organization set up to combat threats to the human race.
The actor was most recently seen on Broadway in Oleanna. His other theater credits include The Goat, or Who Is Sylvia?, Peter and Jerry and The Subject Was Roses.
He is best known for his starring roles in films such as Independence Day, Sleepless in Seattle, Ruthless People, While You Were Sleeping, Spaceballs, Bottle Shock, Noble Son, and Surveillance.
